In January 2023 Baumschlager Eberle Architekten expanded its operation to Spain acquiring Madrid-based DL+A , which now operates as Baumschlager Eberle Arquitectos. With over 30 years’ experience in architecture and research, the practice portfolio includes housing, social-health, educational, and office construction schemes as well as work in the favelas of Brazil and trade fair and congress centre in Peru. The office is increasing their emphasis on sustainable refurbishment projects and buildings with green building certification. Among the awards received, it is worth highlighting the first PassivHaus prize awarded in Wuppertal, Germany, to the Brains School, and the Coca-Cola Headquarters, the first building with LEED GOLD CI certification in Spain.

The focus of DL+A’s work lies in the provision of architectural and engineering services combined with urban planning, interior design and energy/sustainability consultancy.
